Bonnie E. Laskowski, 88, of Decatur, IL passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 17, 2011) at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday (Feb. 21, 2011) at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Monday at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Mrs. Laskowski was born on May 2, 1922 in Reelsville, IN, the daughter of Russell A. and Hattie D. (Sprague) Sims. She married Robert W. Laskowski Sr. on February 9, 1942 in Idaho. He preceded her in death in January of 1985. Bonnie worked at the Sangamon Ordnance Plant in Illiopolis during WWII and worked for Classic Printing for seventeen years. She was a homemaker, a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church since 1954 and she loved square dancing with the Promanators.
Surviving are her children: Robert W. (Mary) Laskowski Jr. of Decatur, IL, Gary Michael (Jodi) Laskowski of Decatur, IL, Sandy K. Lorith of Decatur, IL, Beverly A. (Meridith) Burgess of Decatur, IL; brother: Gerald Allison Sims; grandchildren: Sharon K. (Jim) Roberts, Tom Blackwell Jr., Deborah Lynn Burgess, Amy Jean (Craig) St. Claire, Amanda J. (Jason) Salmons, Joshua Michael Laskowski, Cody Daniel Laskowski; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Lorene Bissonett and Leona Myers.

Dear Family,
I know we only met a few times and for that I'll always be greatful. I am a neice of Aunt Bonnie's. I am Lorene's daughter. I read in the Decatur paperthat Aunt bonnie passed away and my heart sank. She was my only link to my Mother and the Last time I saw her ( about 1 1/2 years) she didn't know me. I live in Griffin Ga. I have know other way to contact you all because I couldn't find anybody's phone# in the book. I would love to hear from one of you. Thank you so much and my sympathy to all of you.
